I took advantage of a rare clear sky at the weekend to photograph
Comet Hartley 2 again. I couldn't see it with the naked eye, as the
"seeing" wasn't that brilliant. However, it was most impressive
through a pair of 8 x 25 binoculars. The attached image shows the
comet rapidly heading towards Auriga. 5 sub-frames taken between 01:10
and 01:23 UT on 2010 October 17.
Equipment used: Sky-Watcher ED100, HEQ5 mount, Canon EOS 40D at prime
focus. Exposure details: 5 x 180 Seconds @ f/9, ISO-800. Guiding
equipment: Sky-Watcher ED80, StarShoot Autoguider, PHD Guiding
