St Thomas' RC School, Keith
Every year St Thomas' RC School in Keith holds a science day to coincide with National Science week. In 2009, to mark the International Year of Astronomy, they decided to hold a Star Seekers day on Friday 6th March 2009.
SIGMA was asked if they would come along and help out on the day and offer any support they could.
SIGMA members went along on the day and helped out with some workshops and gave a comet demonstration.
They then hosted an observing session and, finally, held their monthly meeting at the school which was a talk on Astronaut John Young, by Chris Stradling.
All in all the day was a huge success with pupils, parents and teachers extremely enthusiastic and excited about the event.
